Privacy Policy

Your private work stays private. Everything is stored only on your device.

Your Privacy is Our Priority

Reclaim is designed to keep your private work private. Everything you write — your "That's Me" / "That's Not Me" statements, your journal entries, your gallery images, your clip bookmarks — is stored only on your device. It is never sent to a server. We do not have accounts, we do not sync across devices, and we do not track your use of the app.

What we store, and where

When you use Reclaim, the app creates and maintains a local database on your device containing:

Your identity statements ("That's Me" and "That's Not Me" entries)

Journal entries you write against those statements

References to images you've selected for the Gallery

Clip bookmarks and progress

Your settings (theme, reminder time, dismissed onboarding cards, etc.)

This data is stored using the operating system's local database facilities (SwiftData on iOS, Room on Android). We never see it. We cannot see it. If you uninstall the app, this data is deleted along with it.

What we do not collect

Reclaim does not:

Create any account or identifier tied to you

Send analytics, usage metrics, or crash reports to us or to any third party

Contain any advertising or advertising trackers

Ask for your location, contacts, microphone, or any identifying information

Make any network request that contains your personal data

Notifications

If you enable the morning reminder in Settings, the app schedules a local notification at the time you chose. This is handled entirely by your device's operating system. No reminder data leaves your device.

Importing and exporting your own data

Settings → Your Data lets you:

Export your data as a JSON file you can save anywhere you choose (Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, etc.)

Import a previously-exported JSON file back into the app

You control your data: When you export, you control where the file goes. If you store it in a cloud service, that cloud service's privacy policy governs it from that point forward.

Sending us feedback

When you tap Send feedback in Settings, the app opens your phone's email client with a draft message addressed to our feedback inbox. The draft includes a short footer with your app version and a generic device model (e.g. "iPhone, iOS 17.5"). You decide whether to send — if you press Send, the email goes to us and we read it. If you delete it or close the draft, nothing is sent. You can remove the device-info footer from the draft before sending if you prefer.

We keep feedback emails so we can respond to them and triage bug reports. We don't use them for anything else.

Children

Reclaim is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under the age permitted by applicable law (generally 13 in the U.S., 16 in much of the EU, older in some jurisdictions). Because we do not collect information at all, this is structural rather than ceremonial.

Third parties

We do not share data with third parties because we do not have your data to share.

The only third parties you may interact with while using Reclaim are:

Apple or Google, through the App Store or Play Store, whose own privacy practices govern your account and the app download itself.

Your own email provider, when you choose to send us feedback.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, if the changes are material, surface a notice in the app.
